CareerSpoc is a capacity-building initiative of Lex Foundation, committed to empowering underprivileged youth and families through education, employability, and livelihood support.
Why CareerSpoc exists
The transition through Classes 9–12 is a critical point of vulnerability.
India has made significant progress in expanding access to education, yet millions of young people continue to face barriers at critical stages of their educational journey — and for many, academic failure becomes the beginning of a much longer cycle.
- Education
A major transition bottleneck
- The transition from middle school to secondary education — and particularly the completion of Classes 9–12 — remains a major challenge for students from economically and socially disadvantaged communities.
- Academic setbacks
More than an academic event
- Large numbers of students are unable to clear Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations, particularly within state-board systems. For many, failure is not simply a setback — it can become the beginning of a cycle of dropout, unemployment, low-skilled work, and reduced opportunity.
- Economic pressure
Poverty and household responsibility
- Poverty, household responsibilities, and the need to earn push many adolescents — particularly from vulnerable families — to a point where continuing education becomes financially or socially difficult.
- Limited pathways
Awareness, not just access
- These pressures are intensified by inadequate academic support, gender-based barriers, safety and accessibility concerns, and limited awareness of alternative education, skill, and career pathways.
CareerSpoc seeks to address this critical gap by becoming a bridge between education and sustainable livelihoods — supporting young people who are at risk of dropping out, have discontinued their education, have failed board examinations, or need additional pathways to build employable skills and secure dignified livelihoods.

How CareerSpoc responds

Prevent Dropout
Identifying and supporting students at critical transition points, particularly during Classes 9–12, before they leave school.
Second-Chance Education
Creating pathways for students who have failed or discontinued their Class 10 or Class 12 education to continue learning.
Skill Development
Building employable skills through vocational, digital, technical, soft-skills, and workplace-readiness programmes.
Employment & Apprenticeships
Connecting learning to livelihoods by linking young people with employment, apprenticeships, and income-generating opportunities.
Career Guidance
Providing guidance and mentorship so youth can make informed decisions about education, skills, careers, and employment.
Family Livelihood Support
Strengthening livelihood opportunities for vulnerable families, reducing the economic pressures that push children out of education.
Gender & Inclusion
Addressing the barriers faced by girls and other vulnerable groups in accessing education, skills, and employment.
Partnerships

To create an inclusive India where every underprivileged young person has access to education, skills, career opportunities, and dignified livelihoods — regardless of their academic setbacks or socio-economic background.
We envision a future where failure in Class 10 or 12, school dropout, poverty, or lack of access to resources does not determine a young person's future. CareerSpoc aspires to build an ecosystem where vulnerable youth can discover their potential, acquire relevant skills, enter the workforce, and become financially independent contributors to their families and communities.
